I’ve got a secret

8

Almost everyone has a favorite beauty secret. Something they do that’s out of the ordinary but effective. I’ve collected scads of “secrets” from top makeup artists and estheticians over the years that I constantly use. For example, I apply my makeup looking into an 8x magnifying mirror (very scary) which forces me to blend every edge and go easy on the color. I refrigerate my toner for a cool, skin tightening effect during the hot summer months (I actually bought a super small fridge for the bathroom.)  And freeze my eye liner pencil before sharpening to curb breakage. And a makeup pro taught me to apply my lipstick and blush before my eye makeup for a more balanced look.

My newest beauty secret? I rub a couple of drops of Recovery Serum in my palms then wipe my hands over my hair to add shine. As for my body, I always complete about a dozen bicep hammer curls with 12 lbs weights before I go out in a sleeveless top.  (Sure, I’m exhausted before I leave the house, but my arms look good.)

In the summer, I use Quick Refiner on my feet and elbows to keep them super smooth. I also keep GelTherapy in the fridge — it works great as a cool hydration and depuffing mask. I also used Recovery Serum and VitaMineral Power Pen (faithfully) on my growing belly when I was pregnant and escaped both of my pregnancies sans stretch marks!

When I garden in the summer heat, my skin is so sensitive that it gets red and itchy from the clothes rubbing on my skin. When I go back inside, I smooth Stress Solution over the irritated areas, and it calms my skin down within minutes.

I adopted this habit after 5 years of dealing with Omaha’s hot, humid Summers: Multi-task Eye Creme in the fridge! Talk about an instantly refreshing way to wake up your eyes in the morning! It feels great and the coolness also decreases morning undereye puffiness.

I mix Calmitude Delicate Eye Gel into my concealer that I use as a eyeshadow base as well as a concealer. It is amazing!!!!
