You’re probably wondering why this blog is called SkinReading®. Is it some new psychic system like palm reading or Tarot cards (my personal favorite?) Here’s the deal. For the past several weeks I’ve been posting articles in the “Notes”section of Bioelements Facebook page. The feedback was great so I decided to carve out a space on our website for a weekly blog. One problem…it needed a name. Hmmm. Barbara’s blog? Nah, too boring. Into Skin? Too trite. Then Callie, our VP of Marketing said “Why not call it SkinReading like our system of skin assessment”? Cool! One easy name with a double meaning. Makes sense to me.
Since you still may be wondering what SkinReading is, let me explain. After a number of years working as an esthetician the realization hit me. I could actually “read” the skin. Dry or oily? The pores told me that story. Premature wrinkles and brown spots? Sunscreen neglect. Cigarette smoker? Dull, oxygen-deprived skin. Fast food junkie? Puffiness from too much salt intake. And on and on. This prompted me to develop a system of professional skin assessment called “SkinReading”. It’s a no-nonsense way for esthetician’s to analyze the condition of each persons’ skin.
You’ll read more on reading the skin (getting repetitive here) in future posts. But right now I’ve got to run. I’m late for my Tarot card session.

Looking forward to the wealth of information. Love it.
Awesome. I look forward to the wealth of information to come.
Thanks for the information on SkinReading!
Hey!
I’m really excited about this.
I think Bioelements SkinReading is the most important part of any Bioelements Facial and should never be left out. Not only will it give the esthetician the information she needs to offer the best treatment and professional retail recommendations, it helps build the relationship between the client and the esthetician. You really get to know that client and her skin to the point that she will immediately come to you, and only you for her skin care advice. You can’t beat that! SkinReading builds trust, and maximizes results.
Every treatment begins with a skin reading. We use it initially to recommend the best treatment recommendations and then to evaluate the effectiveness of our treatment plan. Skin reading is essential!
